Our First iOS Meetup in Prague: Vision Framework & In-App Purchases

Our First iOS Meetup in Prague: Vision Framework & In-App Purchases
" Our first contact with the iOS developer community in Prague, hosted by STRV, with talks on Apple Vision Framework and StoreKit 2. "

Last week Francisco and I attended our first iOS Meetup in Prague, hosted by STRV at their offices. The event, "Crafting iOS with Vision Framework & In-App Purchases," brought together local iOS developers to discuss two topics we care about at AtalayaSoft: computer vision and native monetization.

It was our first time joining the iOS community in Prague, and it did not disappoint.

First iOS Meetup in Prague hosted by STRV

Eyes on iOS: Vision Framework & Beyond

The first talk was by Tomáš Pařízek, an iOS developer at STRV. Tomáš walked through Apple's Vision Framework and its practical applications: saliency detection for identifying the most relevant areas of an image, real-time face tracking, and object recognition.

What stood out to us was how straightforward it is to integrate these capabilities into an app without building custom machine learning models. For enterprise apps, the use cases are clear: visual process automation, identity verification, image-based inventory management. All native, no third-party dependencies.

In-App Purchase Wizardry: Native vs. 3rd Party

Next, Raul Batista, also from STRV, compared native in-app purchase strategies with third-party platforms like RevenueCat.

The talk was a solid overview of the tradeoffs. At AtalayaSoft, we continue to favor StoreKit 2 as our primary approach. Native integration with the Apple ecosystem, full control over the purchase flow, and built-in security make it the strongest long-term choice for iOS-focused projects. Third-party platforms have their place—especially for cross-platform apps—but if your app is iOS-only, StoreKit 2 gives you everything you need.

Q&A with STRV's iOS Team Managers

The event wrapped up with a Q&A session featuring Tomáš Čejka and Gleb Arkhipov, iOS team managers at STRV. It was a good opportunity to hear how they manage iOS teams at scale and what technical challenges they are prioritizing.

Prague Has an iOS Community, and We Want to Be Part of It

This meetup was our first contact with the iOS developer community in Prague, and it left us wanting more. STRV put together a well-organized event with quality technical talks and plenty of networking time—beer and snacks included.

We plan to keep attending events like this. Being part of the local community matters to us, and Prague has a more active tech scene than we expected.

Does your team need senior iOS developers? At AtalayaSoft, we integrate into enterprise teams as contractors, bringing experience from apps with millions of users. Let's talk →
